Varanasi Again!

Ghats of Varanasi

I begin to write again, after six-seven months. It has taken a trip to Varanasi, and more, for me to start writing again. But no, wait, there is more. Before I come to Varanasi, to Banaras, I have something more to say, because, after all, it is all about what I have to say, isn’t it?

This time it is different. No, not the story, yes of course the story is different, but what is actually different is the manner in which I tell it. This time there is no tentative typing it out in a word file, sleeping over it, editing it, counting the words, crossing my fingers, copy-pasting it and publishing it. This time it is straight on, right from the heart, on to the blog. No editing, no ruminating, no embellishing, no couching the shots in soft punches. Right or wrong, grammatical or otherwise, here is the story that I want to tell…….

Does it mean that I have matured as a writer? Far from it – maybe I have stopped caring, and just want to tell a good story. Is that such a bad thing? Only time will tell.

Let me come back to my muse, my Achilles heel, my inspiration in life – Varanasi; the immortal city, the city nestled on the banks of the ageless Ganga, the river which feeds and nourishes the teeming millions of this country, India, Bharata, Aryavarta – whatever you may choose to call it!! This is the story of my tryst with Varanasi and Ganga and Shiva and I will tell it my way…….

Till next time…..

Shivoham – I am Shiva!!!
